I hope everyone stayed safe during winter storm Nemo! My area wasn’t affected too badly, but I’m so glad I had cancelled plans on going out Friday night because by Saturday morning the snow was almost up to my hips. :X Taking public transportation would have been near impossible in the midst of it, but I’m honestly impressed by how efficiently the city had plowed all the streets afterwards.
I don’t know about you guys, but I spent yesterday afternoon releasing my inner child and playing in the snow. :D We spent three hours building ramps and sledding down a huge hill in Roslyn, but I ended up with the sniffles. :< (Totally worth it, though.) I’ve always preferred summer anyway – which is why I’m really looking forward to my vacation in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic this May! :D
My boyfriend’s mom is a travel expert who finds all these amazing vacation packages. Since she knew we were looking to spend late Spring in the Caribbean, she forwarded us an e-mail from Apple Vacations featuring an exclusive deal on a 7-Night All-Inclusive Stay at the Sirenis Cocotal Beach Resort Casino & Spa for only $899 (airfare and taxes included). The price can’t get any better than that, especially since the regular package costs $1,300+. Needless to say, we booked our trip immediately. ;D
Our luxury suite comes with a king-sized bed, air-conditioning, mini-bar, balcony, living room, and our own jacuzzi. <3 After reading up on what else is available at the resort on this website, I can’t even fathom how incredible this getaway is going to be. What’s even better? All-inclusive means that everything on the list below without the ($) symbol is part of our package for free! :o
Even though it’s still three months away.. I’m already fantasizing about romantic excursions with my boyfriend, horseback riding on the beach, sunbathing by the pools, endless nightly entertainment, and being able to order as much food and alcoholic beverages as we want 24/7. *le sigh*
I’ve never gone on a vacation without my family before, so I really want to make this the best experience possible. I even bought these two new bikini tops from ASOS as motivation for me to work out even harder at the gym so I can be in beach-body shape by the time we depart for Punta Cana. Wish me luck! ^.^

OMGSH your trip sounds amaaaaaazingg. My sister went to Punta Cana with her husband, and really enjoyed it. Prepare yourself for lots of warm sand and water :D
I’ve only had brief excursions on several Caribbean islands during two cruises with my family, so I think actually being immersed in the environment for 7 or 8 days would be a different and worthwhile experience. :)
